Judging Process
The deadline for entering the APA Creative Awards is Friday 9 May 2008
What will the judges be looking for?
A creative solution within a customer magazine or online content, that combines innovation with a faithfulness to the client’s brand values to create impact and target the reader’s attention. The entry should demonstrate a clear knowledge of the magazine’s target audience and the client’s marketing aims whilst effectively displaying the editorial message. The judges will examine how the solution’s use of imagery and typography not only work well together, but work hard in delivering an original and enticing marketing proposition to a demanding reader.
*Please note print awards are not restricted exclusively to magazines. Entrants may submit any printed item created for a brand: magazine, book, brochure, catalogue or annual report.
Points to Consider
• How did you interpret the client's brief?
• What elements of the project are you directly responsible for?
(It is essential that you provide these details, e.g. content only, design and build, etc)
• How does the creative solution add value to the client's brand proposition and overall strategy?
• What evidence is there to prove that the creative method is doing its job effectively?

• The APA Creative Awards are open to all APA members including overseas members. Non APA members are not eligible to enter the Awards.
• The closing date for entries is Friday 9 May 2008
• Shortlisted entries will be announced on Wednesday 21 May 2008
• Entrants who have been successfully shortlisted will be asked to supply an A3 board of the design by Thursday 29 May 2008
• The cost per entry is (£65+VAT = total £76.37). Payment should be made online, but a copy of payment details should be sent directly to Carly Osman at the APA, Cheques should be made payable to Periodical Publishers Association (VAT no. 341 1391 90), a copy of the cheque number should be written on the online submission, and cheques sent directly to the APA.
• Confirmation that your entry has been received and entered into the APA Creative Awards will be sent out once the payment confirmation form has been received.
Failure to complete all stages of the payment process may invalidate your entry. VAT receipts for all entry fees will be provided.
