Along with the more obvious creative values, judges (senior creatives and industry experts), will examine how the look and feel of the submission reflects the client’s brand values and the expectations of its target audience.

The preliminary round of judging will be conducted by a select panel of senior creatives within the customer publishing industry. Please note that members of the committee will declare an interest in their own agency’s work and will not be eligible to judge these submissions. For the first round, judging will be conducted online, with the committee examining how the look and feel of the publication reflects the client’s brand values and the expectations of its target audience.  

The second round of judging will comprise of independent judges from the design and creative industries. Entries that have been shortlisted will be asked to supply an A3 foamex board of the creative solution by Thursday 29 May. Judges will use the boards along with the online submissions, and hard copies publication, to decide on a winner for each category. The winners of categories 1-10 will be put forward for consideration as the best overall creative solution of the year.

Winners of all categories will be announced at the APA Creative Awards ceremony. (8th July at The Roof Gardens.) 

Judging Process
The deadline for entering the APA Creative Awards is Friday 9 May 2008.

[What will the judges be looking for?]

A creative solution within a customer magazine/ online content that combines innovation with a faithfulness to the client’s brand values to create impact and target the reader’s attention. The entry should demonstrate a clear knowledge of the magazine’s target audience and the client’s marketing aims while effectively displaying the editorial message. The judges will examine how the solution’s use of imagery and typography not only work well together, but work hard in delivering an original and enticing marketing proposition to a demanding reader.
